What’s Happening at East Sylva Baptist Church

Information from Pastor Reed

Due to the Coronavirus health threat we will not have any services or activities through April 29. We will update you through our One Call system next week about future plans. I  want to express my thanks for those who have dropped off your tithes at the church. We will try to have a devotion/service each Sunday on Facebook Live and on Youtube.

We go to the Word of God for comfort during these days. The Word of God can help us with our thoughts and attitudes. The Word of God can provide a healing and peace that we can not obtain any other way.
The Bible was provided for us as a way to carry us so that in all things we will be able to see Jesus Christ. If you want to grow in the Word, use these days to study, explore, and seek Him. Let the Word dwell in you to give you peace. I challenge you to rediscover the Bible in your own life, and to regain a hunger for the Word. Knowing, studying, and praying is critical if you are to grow in your relationship with the Lord. Spend some time over the next few weeks with the Lord. I know you will be blessed if you do.
Johua 1:9 is one of my favorite verses. Many songs have been written using this text.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

If you have any needs or know of someone who does, please feel free to contact me. Remember to check on your neighbors. Share the gospel whenever you have the opportunity. The church is not a bulding, IT IS YOU!!
